Update @ June 2012

Hi Readers,

Well, it's been past a year for the year 2012 ! Time really flies. What's new?
I am fine and healthy. I've worked for 3 years+ for existing company and gotten a promotion. Aside from this, I've worked for a unit trust (investment) company to gain more insight about investment.

Nowadays, most of us love to hear somethings light about money. Probably let me make some light sharing on this. In the normal society paradigm, there is 4 quadrant. Which is E , I , S and B.

E stands for employee, this quadrant works for others. They work in a schedule like 9am-5pm and receive a monthly wages called 'salary'. The income is pretty fixed, or maybe there's incentive paid like allowance or bonuses. This quadrant is using most of the time and energy to earn money.

I stands for investment. This quadrant people do invest in various area such as equity, money market, bonds, property and diversify into different kind of sector, countries , assets and company. In the end results, they will receive capital appreciation and/or dividend earning. Some do aim for short terms and some do aim for long terms. This quadrant is using money to find more money.

S stands for self-employed. This quadrant people do work them-self , in other meaning they work on their own business or selling stuff. For example, those food sellers or burger sellers are S. Those chee cheong fun seller or cake seller are S. Those private tutors who teach privately are S. Those salesman who sell you some product are S too. This quadrant is dependent on their self to find more money. The more they work(like extending business hours), the more they earn.

B stands for business. This quadrant people create business which bring job opportunity to others. In other words, a business owner. Example like McDonald , 7-11, KFC and Apple Inc. CEO are business owner. They create a business which provides job opportunity to others. Some of them do sell and share franchise to others which in return bring more business. This quadrant people are business minded and earn the most.

All the quadrant is mixable , for example you can be both E and S (Working in the day, and part time selling stuff). or S and I or B and I etc/

Well, I noticed nowadays parent like to educate their child to become 'E'. They always say something like 'Son, when you are big enough and graduated from University you can join the society workforce'. And I'm sure some of the friends like to say 'Aiya, don't think about girls. Work hard and earn more money and there will have more girls dig you', or vise verse.
Question is, how much can you earn from being E and save? Doubt yourself.

I have evolved from being E alone to E+I, whereby I am earning a lump sum of salary and doing a monthly investment on unit trust. By being an E is not enough literally, as inflation in our country is rising every years!
The average inflation in our country as of last year is 3.4%. Which means that our money/purchasing power  will lost it effectiveness by about 3.4% every year. Now think about the FD and savings account that we earn, how much do we get? 3% or 3.5% ? It look like break even and we don't seems making anything.

The key is to beat the inflation plus a positive returns in the long run. Unit trust is one of the best options for those who like to invest and beat the inflation , and earning a positive returns in a long term basis. Unit trust is only for long terms (5 years+). It's like a saving plan.

If anyone are keen to explore more on unit trust investment, feel free do email me and let me know :)

Update @ 2011

Yo Readers, its 2011 already and its almost a year since the last time I updated this blog.

Whats the update on myself ? Finally stable a bit nowadays, and seeking to improve myself slowly like a turtle. Today feel like sharing about a story of a goose and a golden egg.

Someday, a farmer goose lay down a golden egg. He feel not right, and check the egg. It was a pure gold ~ He take and sell the egg and he make a fortune as the goose lay down 1 egg per day.
A few months later, the farmer is getting more and more excited because the goose keep on producing gold eggs and think that there is many many golden eggs inside the goose.
Due to greediness, in the end, the farmer killed the goose. Buthe found nothing inside the goose.
The farmer regret because he's too focus on the Production(eggs), and sacrificed/neglected the Production asset(the goose)

In nowadays life, I notice many of the people tend to focus on the "outcome", or the actual production. For example, you want your employee to get the work done. You want your kids to clean his room. You want your boyfriend to be macho and make many money. You want your GF to treat you like king. You want to be rich and make 100k. Finally, you want this and that.

But, looking back do you think its the best thing if you could get all this come true? I bet you won't be as happy as you think.

I've read a book , this life is needed to be balanced. The Production, and the Production Capability/Asset. For example, making money by working hard like shit but neglecting the Production assest(ourself) is not balanced. What happen if the asset is down somedays? or the maintenance fees to be higher?

Or in a very common situation, where you want your kids to get some work done? YES, typically you want yell at them, shout at them if necessary, and force them with your current position / power / physical strength and tell them what to do and how to do, and tell them you're RIGHT.
See what happen, YES you got your desired job done and congrats :)
and YES, you've just sacrifice something. Your kids will not be as dependent , and they missed out the opportunities to think themself , practically reasoning methods and you increased the relationship border between both of you.

This principles can be applied to almost any social life. So I hope that we will start to focus more on the production asset & production capability rather than the actual production itself.
Life shall be balanced :) (More..)

Getting Better in Time

Dear Readers, its been a long couple of weeks since the last time I updated this blog. I will try to update this blog more often if I have the time.

Just a very nice song from Leona Lewis - Better in Time

It's been the longest winter without you
I didn't know where to turn to
See somehow I can't forget you
After all that we've been through

Going coming
Thought I heard a knock
Who's there no one
Thinking that I deserve it
Now I realize that I really didn't know
If you didn't notice you mean everything
Quickly I'm learning to love again
All that I know is I'mma be ok

[Chorus:]
Thought I couldn't live without you
It's gonna hurt when it heals too
It'll all get better in time
Even though I really love you
I'm gonna smile cause I deserve to
It'll all get better in time

I couldn't turn on the TV
Without something there to remind me
Was it all that easy
To just put aside your feelings

If I'm dreaming don't wanna laugh
Hurt my feelings but that's the path
I'll believe in
And I know time will heal it
If you didn't notice boy you mean everything
Quickly I'm learning to love again
All I know is I'mma be ok

[Chorus:]
Thought I couldn't live without you
It's gonna hurt when it heals too
It'll all get better in time
Even though I really love you
I'm gonna smile cause I deserve to
It'll all get better in time

Since there's no more you and me
It's time I let you go
So I can be free
And live my life how it should be
No matter how hard it is I'll be fine without you
Yes I will

[Chorus: x2]
Thought I couldn't live without you
It's gonna hurt when it heals too
It'll all get better in time
Even though I really love you
I'm gonna smile cause I deserve to (yes I do)
It'll all get better in time
